AFFILIATIONS & EXAMINATIONS

PSM incorporates the Rockschool & Trinity syllabus for the Grade Exams.

However PSM has developed it's own syllabus that go beyond the set syllabus to ensure students have an indepth knowledge of other aspects of music as well. This extra step helps to increase the understanding of our students so that they eventually receive considerably more information and training in addition.

The school is affiliated to Trinity College London (TCL), a reputed International Examinations Board and Rockschool London for both practical and theory exams. Practical exams are conducted once a year. Examiners from Trinity/ Rockschool conduct the practical exams which are held between October- December every year. Theory exams are conducted twice a year- May and November/ December.

The syllabus of PSM incorporates the exam material. The School will indicate when students are ready to appear for the exams. Students will be informed which grade they can appear for at the time of Exam registrations. The School encourages students to appear for exams. However, it is not mandatory for students to appear for the exams.

In 2005, PSM pioneered the Rockschool London exam in India with the highest number of registrations. Rockschool London is a branch of TCL that addresses western contemporary music. Apart from having the largest number of entries for the Rockschool London exam, PSM had a topper in every grade a student appeared and had an unprecedented total of 11 toppers, the highest number of toppers by any school in the National Capital Region.

PSM has consistently had toppers every year since our students have appeared for the exams. In 2006, the PSM had a total of 10 toppers, a record by any Music school in Delhi.

The school is also associated with the famous Indian rock band Parikrama, where Sonam Sherpa is the lead guitarist.

Trinity Guildhall - (Trinity College of Music - London)

Rockschool (R2K) - London
Rockschool was set up in 1991 to bring the best in pop and rock into mainstream education. They do this by providing exams, publications, advice and support to teachers and educational bodies. Rockschool offers the world first popular music grade exams for Guitar, Bass, Piano/keyboards, Drums and Vocals developed in collaboration with and validated by Trinity College, London.

Rockschool continually expands its activities by creating partnerships and developing new qualifications, while operating in 18 countries across the world.

Parikrama
Parikrama has been in existence since 1991 which makes it one of the longest surviving rock bands in India today. With over 1000 concerts to their credit in India and across the world, they are one of the truly rocking acts to have graced India, apart from being the only Indian band to have opened for Iron Maiden on numerous occasions as well as being the only Indian band to ever play the prestigious Download Festival in the UK.
